A CASE FOR A TORTURED DELIVERY BOY
By Medha Jain
In Lucknow, a delivery man was beaten, tortured, and got cruel treatment in a house in Gomti Nagar in the early hours of Friday, the police said.
The delivery boy, Mohammad Aslam, said in his complaint that he had gone to deliver an order to a house where four people were present.
"They beat me up and kept me locked in a room at 1.30 am. All four people hit me on the head. They attacked me with a helmet, snatched my mobile phone—which they later returned—and threatened to shoot me," he accused.
Shashank Singh confirmed that there was a registered case. A suspect was in, and they went on to hold the three others.
Aslam also said that the attackers asked his name, and because of his religious identity, they further tormented him. They threw a glass of liquor at him and ill-treated him.
He explained how the four individuals instructed him to sit, stand, or sit in a corner to humiliate him. They also threatened to pour hot water on him.
"They made me write a fake application and threatened me if I said anything, they had my address and could harm me at any time," he further said.
Aslam also gave details about the house in his complaint to the police. He declared he had gone to deliver '20 rotis' when one of the suspects, Abhishek, asked him to deliver the order to a room on the first floor.
He told Abhishek that late-hour deliveries are delivered at the gate. "Abhishek, along with three other youths, then began to torture me," he said.
ENDRICK MAKES HIS MARK ON HIS LA LIGA DEBUT AS REAL MADRID WINS AGAINST REAL VALLADOLID, WHILE KYLIAN MBAPPE FAILS TO SCORE A GOAL
By Raghav Jain
A 3-0 win over Real Valladolid was earned by Spanish champions Real Madrid in La Liga on Sunday as Kylian Mbappe made his Santiago Bernabeu bow without finding the net.
For the first time in a Los Blanco shirt, Madrids French striker Mbappe played at home but was greatly frustrated by Valladolid's defense.
After 50 minutes Madrid midfielder Fede Valverde opened the scoring and substitutes Brahim Diaz and debutant Endrick struck later on.
Madrid produced little in the first half without the injured Jude Bellingham but did adequately after the break to earn them their first win of the season, following an opening draw at Real Mallorca.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side, still lacking fluency in attack, stayed two points behind rivals Barcelona, who beat Athletic Bilbao on Saturday.
Ancelotti said, “We were too slow in the first half, in the second half we were much more active, there was more movement, much faster with the ball.”
