F-35 Fighter Jet Goes Missing
By Saanvi Tripathy
Fact is sometimes stranger than fiction, as recent events in USA have proved. One of the world’s most expensive fighter jets, a F-35B Lightning II jet is missing after the pilot ejected from it post a mishap. While the pilot is said to be safe now, the jet has gone missing!
The pilot ejected over South Carolina, on Sunday afternoon after a "mishap” and was taken to a local hospital in stable condition.
The search for the missing jet is focused on two lakes north of North Charleston, Lake Moultrie and Lake Marion, based on the plane's location and trajectory. A South Carolina Law Enforcement Division helicopter has joined the search.
Officials are still investigating why the pilot ejected.
The F-35 is a fifth-generation stealth fighter jet, and the most expensive aircraft in the world. It is capable of carrying out a wide range of missions, including electronic warfare. And that is what makes this probably the most dangerous missing object ever!
The search for the missing F-35 is ongoing. The military is urging anyone with information about the plane's whereabouts to contact the Joint Base Charleston Base Defense Operations Center.
